How will I get from the Iloilo airport, Welcome Party and the Wedding?

We will coordinate transportation for all out of town guest staying at our hotel block.

Will there be any special traditions at the Wedding?

Yes, we plan to do the cord, veil, candle and coin ceremony as well as the money dance.

Veil Ceremony

The veil symbolizes of the faithful love you have for each other and unity.


Cord Ceremony

The cord symbolizes an infinite bond of love you share that keeps your relationship strong in the face of adversity, as well as that you both are no longer two, but one in marriage.


Coin Ceremony

The coins are a reminder of good stewardship for all couples; that they will mutually support each other, their children and the world around them.


Money Dance

The money dance also known as the prosperity dance is a symbolic gesture of support, well-wishing, and prosperity for the newlyweds as they begin their married life. Traditionally, the dance involves guests pinning paper bills onto the couple’s attire as they dance.

How long is the wedding?

The wedding is from 4pm - 10pm and we plan to move the after party to a club called The Cave.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones during the wedding?

No, we are having an unplugged ceremony. We've hired professionals to capture how this moment looks with their camera so you can capture how it feels with your hearts. You are more than welcome to take photos at the cocktail hour & reception!

Where can I get my Barong?

You can get your Barong when you arrive at Kultura inside SM City Iloilo which is just one street over. It is open 10am to 10pm. Just reminder to bring you black slacks, belt, shoes and plain white tshirt.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

We are having a garden wedding and both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

We'll have hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet with a Filipino selection of salad, meat, seafood and vegan dishes.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please leave a comment when RSVPing or contact the wedding couple.

Will there be an open bar?

Of course! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you. We have waited a long time for this day so party accordingly.

What will the weather be like?

The dry season starts in November and runs through April. The temperature remains pretty consistent throughout the year - an average of 86°F during the day and 75°F in the evening. With dry season, there are still some random showers.

Do I need a voltage converter to use my electronics there?

Yes, the Philippines uses 220V vs. the United States uses 120V.

WHERE DO I CONVERT USD TO PHILIPPINE PESOS (PHP)?

Use your debit card at the ATM. ATM fees are normally less than $2.

what are some filipino customs?

Guest remove their shoes when entering homes.


Meals are regarded as a social experience. Guests are expected to eat a lot. You will always be offered more food.


Table knives are not used. Forks and spoons are used for dining. The food is eaten from a spoon. Many Filipinos eat with fork in the left hand and a spoon in their right hand and push food onto the back of the spoon with the fork.


People often eat with their hands, even rice and stews. The traditional method of placing food on a banana leaf and eating with one's hands is also used throughout the country. It is acceptable to eat food with one's hands at restaurants as well as in the home.

What language is spoken in the Philippines?

There are over 120 languages spoken in the Philippines. Tagalog is the national language and used in formal education throughout the country. Tagalog and English are both official languages. On Iloilo, they primary speak Ilonggo, Tagalog, and English.
